Desperate Struggle as Water Rises Around Pakistani Town
Jacobabad: men digging through an earthen embankment on Sunday on the outskirts of the town of Jacobabad in Pakistan’s hopes to rise steadily draining flood waters.
Have already fled the three-quarters of the 300,000 people of Jacobabad land, for fear of flooding the town soon.
More than two weeks after the devastating floods that hit the country’s first, water is still rising in the plains of southern Sindh province and the people struggling to save their towns and villages.

“We have to provide a way to get water, but will be far Jacobabad sank,” said Manzoor Ahmed, who was with the others in digging bridge gaps to allow water to flow away from the town.
